E-mail / Voicemail Redirection
An E-mail Action forwards the alarm details in an e-mail. You can use this type of redirection to automatically contact the relevant person wherever they are able to pick up their e-mail messages.
You need to configure a separate E-mail Action for each different e-mail message that you want sent. Each e-mail message can be in plain text, or HyperText Markup Language (HTML) format, depending on the format that is supported by each recipient’s e-mail client.
In order to acknowledge an alarm by replying to the e-mail, the recipient needs to have Web access and have the security permissions needed to acknowledge the alarm. If required, you can specify an Acknowledgment Keyword for inclusion in the subject line of the reply to the e-mail, in order for ClearSCADA to acknowledge the alarm.
If an Alarm View has been configured for the item that has triggered the redirection action, you can optionally include a hyperlink to that Alarm View in the e-mail. The recipient needs to have Web access to allow them to select the hyperlink and display the Alarm View in a Web browser. They can then use the Alarm View to manage the alarm and operate the system.
You can use an E-Mail Action to redirect alarms to an individual User, to every user in a User Group, or to the nominated individual on a User Roster. You can also use an E-Mail Action for Voicemail Redirection.
If your system uses ClearSCADA's Geographical Location features, you can configure E-Mail Actions to redirect alarms based on the region with which the alarms are associated. With such a redirection setup, ClearSCADA redirects the alarms to users that are in the same geographical region as the database item with which the alarm is associated (see Control Alarm Redirection by Geographical Region).
