Understand Alarm Redirection
If required on your system, you can configure ClearSCADA to redirect alarms for:
- A system (database) including the Groups, sub-Groups and items in that database
- A Group (including the items within that Group and any sub-Groups)
- An individual database item.
For each of the above, you can configure up to 15 alarm redirections, each of which can be configured to trigger automatically, manually, or both. In each case, you configure the alarm redirections on the Redirection tab of the appropriate configuration Form. You specify the alarm redirections in the order in which ClearSCADA is to check them: from the top row downwards. For each alarm redirection that is required, you specify the conditions under which ClearSCADA is to redirect the alarm, the action that is to be performed, or the Action Roster or redirection Calendar that is to come into force.
When an alarm occurs, ClearSCADA checks the trigger type of the action, action roster, or alarm redirection calendar at the top of the Redirection tab downwards, on the affected system, Group, or individual item.
For each alarm redirection that is to trigger automatically:
- If the alarm condition does not meet any of the trigger states or other redirection criteria, ClearSCADA does not redirect the alarm.
- If the alarm condition does meet one or more trigger states and other redirection criteria, ClearSCADA waits for any delay time to expire. If the alarm condition remains unchanged when the delay expires, ClearSCADA redirects the alarm, as per the action/action roster/alarm redirection calendar specified for that redirection.
For each alarm redirection that is to be triggered manually:
- If the alarm condition does not meet any of the trigger states or other redirection criteria, no redirection takes place.
- If the alarm condition does meet one or more trigger states and other redirection criteria, custom menu option(s) become available to enable users to manually trigger those redirection(s).
For each alarm redirection that can be triggered both manually and automatically:
- If the alarm condition does not meet all of the redirection criteria, no redirection occurs.
- If the alarm condition meets the redirection criteria:
- Custom menu option(s) become available to enable users to trigger the relevant redirection(s).
Additionally:
- Once any delay time expires, if the alarm condition remains unchanged, ClearSCADA redirects the alarm automatically.
There are certain Circumstances in which Alarm Redirections do not Trigger.
