Correcting Invalid Configuration

If an item has invalid configuration, display the item’s Form (see Display a Form) and correct the configuration as necessary. A message area at the bottom of the Form indicates any incomplete, invalid or conflicting configuration:

Double-click on a message in the message area. The cursor is positioned at the relevant location on the Form, ready for you to correct the configuration.

Imported Items with Invalid Configuration

If database items that have been copied or imported into the database contain invalid configuration, ClearSCADA generates a diagnostic message that gives details of the properties that have incomplete, invalid or conflicting configuration.

Displaying Configuration Errors in Groups

To display a list of configuration errors for the items in a Group or Group Instance, and correct that configuration:

  1. Display the Database Bar (see Display an Explorer Bar).
  2. Right-click on the Group or Group Instance in the Database Bar.
    A context-sensitive menu is displayed.
  3. Select the Display Errors option.
ClearSCADA generates a diagnostic message for each item in the Group that has a configuration error.
  4. For each item, amend the configuration as required (see View Further Information about an Entry in the Messages Window) and (see Locate the Configuration Property to Which a Message Relates).
  5. Save the configuration.
