Types of Trend
- Current Trend—This Trend displays the current value of the point in a graph format. This type of Trend is available for each point.
Display a Current Trend by using the Display Current Trend pick action. The Trend displays the current value of the point at the instant that you display the Trend. As the Trend is by default ‘live’, ClearSCADA continues to update the point value, resulting in a ‘trace’ of point activity for the duration that the Trend remains on display.
- Historic Trend—This Trend displays historically stored values for the point, in a graph format. This type of Trend is available for points that have Historic storage enabled (see Enable or Disable Historic Data Storage).
Display a Historic Trend by using the Display Historic Trend pick action. By default, this Trend displays a time scale from the present time backwards over a 24-hour period. The Trend displays data from the most recently logged value, backwards.
As the Trend is by default ‘live’, ClearSCADA continues to update the historic values as they are logged, resulting in an updating ‘trace’ of point activity for the duration that the Trend remains on display.
