Use the fields within the Communications Parameters section of the DNP3 tab to specify whether ClearSCADA is to override the default Communications Parameters that are defined for the channel (see Configure the Communications Parameters).
Select this check box if the DNP3 communications parameters defined on the Channel Form are to be overridden by the parameters specified in this section. Select this check box and set the remaining fields if:
- The outstation is on a significantly faster or slower link—in this situation, you would adjust the Data Link Timeout and Application Fragment Timeout accordingly.
- The outstation is on a significantly more reliable or less reliable link—in this situation, you would adjust Data Link Retries and Application Fragment Attempts accordingly.

Clear the Enabled check box if ClearSCADA is to communicate with the outstation using the Communication Parameters that are specified on the Channel Form (see Configure the Communications Parameters).
