Before you upgrade the firmware on an outstation, use the Reset Firmware Version pick action to:
- Reset the firmware version number stored in the ClearSCADA database.
- Show any fields that were hidden by ClearSCADA when it uploaded the outstation’s last firmware version number. This ensures that all of the ClearSCADA configuration options are available to you for the current upgrade.
When ClearSCADA first establishes contact with a new outstation, or when you install a new firmware version on an outstation, ClearSCADA uploads details of the firmware version number that the outstation is running and stores this information in the ClearSCADA database.
When ClearSCADA uploads the firmware version information, it may then hide some configuration fields that are no longer relevant to the outstation's firmware version.
