Expression Fields
On some configuration displays, the functionality of the Expression window is provided via a field. So, instead of using the browse button on the Expression window to select a tag or color, you can select the browse button for the relevant field. You can also enter the expression manually in the field as required.
When configuring Trends, the following fields provide similar functionality to the Expression window:
- The Title field on the Trend Properties works in a similar way to the Expression window—you can enter an expression manually or use the browse button to select a tag. The Title field is used to edit the Trend title.
- The Label field on the Edit Y Axis window works in a similar way to the Expression window—you can enter an expression manually or use the browse button to select a tag. The Label field is used to edit the label that is shown for the Y-Axis.
- The Label field on the Edit Trace window provides similar functionality as the Expression window—you can enter an expression manually or use the browse button to select a tag.
When configuring Group Templates, you use Expression fields in the Property Overrides window to enter the required expressions. Additionally, you use a Parameter section at the bottom of the Property Overrides window to create Template parameters for use in the Template expressions. For more information, see Define which Property Values Derive from a Group Template in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration.
