Blink

Associated with: Tables, including CDBHistoric and CDBHistoricAll (but not Data Grid tables, the Event Journal (CDBEventJournal), or other Historic Pseudo tables); optional for Data Tables

Some system colors and alarm severity colors are configured to flash. Include the Blink field, along with the Foreground field in a List’s SELECT Clause if you want a record’s foreground to flash whenever that entry is displayed using a flashing system or alarm color. Standard Queries Lists, and Historic Lists include the Blink field by default (see The Color of Entries in a List other than the Alarms List).

If the Foreground field is included without the Blink field, none of the List’s entries will flash when a flashing system or alarm color is in force. Instead, the entries will display the ‘base’ color that indicates such a status, without using the flashing element of that color.

The Blink field has no effect if it is included in the SELECT Clause without the Foreground field.

(To ascertain whether Blink is used in a particular Data Table, look at the Attributes of the fields in that table (see Specify the Field Properties in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration.)

If required, you can assign a Blink alias to one or more fields, in order for only the entries in certain columns to flash (see Lists in Which only the Entries in Particular Columns Change Color).
