Refresh the Data on a List other than an Alarms List
The data in Alarms Lists updates in real time. Data in other Lists is queried via SQL. The rows in Queries Lists such as the Points List are continuously updated, however, should you, for example, add a new point to the database while the Points List remains on display, the new point would only be included in that List once you ‘refresh’ the List. (Assuming that any filters that are in force do not exclude the new point from the List.)
Similarly, while the Events List or Alarm Summary is on display, the entries are only further updated when you ‘refresh’ that List. (Events are not ‘live’—they are occurrences that have already happened on the system. Each new event is a new entry in the Events List.)
‘Custom’ Lists with complex queries that include, for example, summary functions (SUM) and/or GROUP BY clauses, only update when a Refresh is issued. A Refresh is required if there is no one-to-one correlation between the entries on a List and the Ids or RecordIds that would otherwise identify the records in the ClearSCADA database.
To ‘refresh’ a List with the latest data:
- Right-click on the List.
A context-sensitive menu is displayed. - Select the Refresh Query option.
Alternatively, on a ViewX client, you can:
- Press the F5 function key on the keyboard.
(Closing and then redisplaying a List also refreshes the data on that List.)
