Define the Home Page for the Web User Account

ATTENTION: This section and associated topics apply to the Original WebX client only

When you access Original WebX without logging on via a specific user account, you are logged on as the Web guest user automatically. The display that is shown when you first access Original WebX is dependent on the Default View setting for the system.

If a ‘File Object’ has been specified as the Default View for the system, this is displayed when you first access WebX. For example, if a Mimic is defined as the Default View for the system, that Mimic is displayed when you first access WebX (via the Web guest user account).

If a Default View has not been set for the system, a Schneider Electric logo is displayed.

The Default View setting for the system is located on the System Form. (The Form for the system item, sometimes referred to as the Root Group).

  1. Log on to ViewX via a user account that has the Configure permission for the System item.
  2. Display the Database Bar (see Display an Explorer Bar).
  3. In the Database Bar, right-click on the Root Group (System icon).
    A context-sensitive menu is displayed.
  4. Select the Edit Properties option.
    The System Form is displayed.
  5. Select the Group tab.
  6. Select the browse button next to the Default View field to display a Reference dialog box.
  7. Browse to the display you want to be shown in Original WebX.
  8. Select the required display, and then select the OK button to confirm.
  9. Save the System Form.

Original WebX will now display the display you selected whenever a user accesses Original WebXWebX without logging on (and also when a user logs on via a User account that does not have a Home Page specified).
