Advise Threads
The Advise Threads category provides status information about the threads that are used to service the Server Advises (links from the server to a client).
There is an entry for each advise thread, and the entries are categorized as:
- Id—A unique number that is allocated by ClearSCADA to identify the thread.
- ThreadId—A unique number that is allocated by the operating system to identify the thread.
- Advises—Indicates the number of server advises that are serviced by the thread.
The number of threads varies according to the size of your system. For example, small systems may have 1 to 3 threads, whereas larger systems can have many more.
Typically, the Advise Threads information is used to detect possible connection problems (the number of threads can indicate this):
- On a small system, if the number of threads gradually increases above 3 and continues to increase, this indicates that there may be a connection problem.
- On a large system, if the number of threads increases to above 50 or 60, this indicates that there may be a connection problem (unless the system is a very large system).
If you suspect that there is a connection issue, please contact Schneider Electric.
