Unsuppress Event Logging

Associated with: Any item

Security permission required to access this option: Configuration

The number of events logged in an hour for any item can be defined, see Define the Acceptable Number of Event Journal Records.

Whenever an event is logged for an item and the event falls within the current UTC hour, the current hour's event count is incremented.

  • If the count is equal to the Warning level then a fleeting alarm is raised with an associated event, to warn the user.
  • If the count is equal to the Maximum level then a fleeting alarm is raised with an associated event, to warn the user that any further events that occur in the current hour are suppressed.

If the limits are increased on the root group properties, suppression will continue as at previous limits (for items with counts above limits) until a new hour boundary.

When event logging for an item is suppressed the Unsuppress Event Logging pick action becomes available on the context sensitive menu associated with that item.

When you select this pick action for an item the event logging counter is reset to zero for the current hour.

The counter resets are related to the UTC hour boundary, not local time.
