TagName

Description

The tagname of the tag. The tagname is the unique name of the tag within Wonderware Historian. This property applies to all tag types.

When you configure a ClearSCADA point or accumulator for historical data storage, ClearSCADA automatically uses HCAL to create a new tag in Wonderware Historian. It does this when it first exports data for the point or accumulator. ClearSCADA will give the tag a name. The content that is included in the name depends on whether the Prefix is used and the Aggregate Name Suffix check box is selected on the Wonderware Historian Form (see Specify the Properties that are Associated with Tag Names).

The tag name has the following format:

[<prefix>.]<object name>[.<aggregate name>]

(where [<prefix>.] and [.<aggregate name>] are optional)

For more information and examples of how the tag name content differs, depending whether the Prefix and Aggregate Name Suffix are used, see Wonderware Historian Tags.

The value of the property is fixed by ClearSCADA. You cannot change it.
