Source

Associated with: Various DNP3 SCADAPack items.

The Source attribute is common to many Status displays. The attribute indicates the location at which the item resides. The information shown varies, depending on the item.

The Source attribute displays the value Undefined if the item’s configuration is incomplete, in so far as the device with which the item is associated has not yet been specified.

For DNP3 SCADAPack Trend Analog and Trend Counter items, information is displayed in this format:

Master <DNP3 Local Address>: OS <Address>:<Point Type> Point Number <No.>: <Sample Value Type> Trend

Example:

Master 30000:OS 12:AI Point Number 5: Maximum Value Trend

(For a Trend item that defines how often the outstation samples an analog point’s data to ascertain the maximum value reached during each sampling period. The point for which data is being sampled resides at Point Number 5 in the outstation. The outstation’s address is 1, and it belongs to the outstation set that has a DNP3 Local Address of 30000.)

For DNP3 SCADAPack Trend Binary items, information is displayed in this format:

Master <DNP3 Local Address>: OS <Address>:<Point Type> Point Number <No.> Bits <No.>: <Sample Value Type> Trend

Example:

Master 30000:OS 12:BI Point Number 2 Bits 1:Current Value Trend

(For a Trend item that defines how often the outstation samples a binary point’s current value. The point for which data is being sampled resides at Point Number 2 in the outstation. The outstation’s address is 1, and it belongs to the outstation set that has a DNP3 Local Address of 30000.)
