Configuring Sofrel Server Settings
Some driver-specific settings need configuring on the server by a system administrator when a system is first installed. These settings are configured using the ClearSCADA Server Configuration tool. For information on accessing the ClearSCADA Server Configuration tool, see Configuring Advanced Driver Server Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers.
This section explains the properties on the Sofrel section of the tool.
When the Sofrel driver is first installed on a ClearSCADA system, a system administrator should:
- Define any Additional PSTN Connection Types (see PSTN Connection Types).
You may need to use two different connection types if the system contains a mixture of older outstations (for example, S50, Telbox) which use V.23 modems (1200/75 baud) and newer outstations (for example, S500) which use V.34 modems, due to the very large difference is speed.
We recommend splitting the outstations between two different PSTN connection types to allow the channels to have different settings.
- Apply the changes to the server.
- Repeat the procedure for each server on the system. (You only need to perform the steps on any Permanent Standby servers if you make changes to any PSTN Connection Types.)
