Configuring a File Upload
On some systems, the system set-up does not allow Geo SCADA Expert to communicate with one or more of the outstations on the system. Instead, the outstation data is uploaded into Geo SCADA Expert, from file. In order to facilitate the upload procedure, some drivers support File Uploading. The driver-specific documentation indicates if a driver supports this feature and also indicates the format that the data files have to take.
Where File Uploading is supported, you need to configure a File Upload in the Geo SCADA Expert database for each set of data files that need uploading into Geo SCADA Expert. You need to decide whether you require one File Upload per system, or whether to logically divide your system and create one File Upload per region or other logical division.
You configure the settings for a File Upload using the fields on the appropriate File Upload Form. The Form has several tabs (see Tabs on File Upload Forms).
If Geo SCADA Expert is required to log on to any remote node(s) in order to access the files that are to be uploaded to the local Geo SCADA Expert system, logon settings need to be specified using the Geo SCADA Expert Server Configuration Tool (see Upload Files over the Network).
The file upload procedure is triggered using the Upload File or Upload Files pick actions.
