You need to add an Advanced EWS server database item for each physical server on your system with which you want Geo SCADA Expert to communicate using the EcoStruxure Web Services protocol.
To configure an Advanced EWS server item, you need to know the location of the EWS server on which the EWS data is located. You also need to know the read mechanism that is supported by the server, to access the data on that server.
You also need to establish which features are required for each Advanced EWS server. You can configure each server to use a variety of features, including alarm redirection. However, many of these features are optional and have no effect on communications. The optional features include:
- Alarm view
- Alarm Redirection
- User methods.
If the features listed above are not configured, they are not used for the selected server (they will be left blank).
