Change the Order of Columns on an Alarms List or the Alarm Banner Directly

You can use the Alarm Columns window to change the order in which the columns display on an Alarms List on a ViewX or Virtual ViewX client, or Alarm Banner on a ViewX client (see Use the Alarm Columns Window to Change the Alarms List or Alarm Banner Columns).

If the Allow Column Resizing check box is selected on the Alarms and Events tab of the Options window (see Specify the Preferred Alarm Banner and Alarms List Options on a ViewX Client), you can also change the column order on the Alarm Banner directly.

Any changes to the column order for an Alarms List will only apply to the current document window. However, the changes will be used the next time you open an Alarms List in a new document window.

To change the order of columns on an Alarms List or the Alarm Banner directly (the latter only applies to ViewX clients):

  1. Select the header of the column that is to be moved to a different position on the List—do not release the mouse button.
  2. ‘Drag’ the column header to its required location. (For instance, if you want the ‘Time’ column to appear to the left of the ‘Severity’ column, drag the ‘Time’ column onto the ‘Severity’ column.)
  3. Release the mouse button.
The selected column is moved to the specified position on the Alarms List or Alarm Banner.

If you want to hide any columns so that they are no longer displayed, use the Alarm Columns Window (see Use the Alarm Columns Window to Change the Alarms List or Alarm Banner Columns).
