Defining Time Point Details

Use a Time Point within the Geo SCADA Expert database to represent an internal point, or to retrieve or set the value of a property on another device or application, when that property has a date/time value.

Configure each time point on your system by using the fields on the Time Point Form. The Form has several tabs, which you use to define different aspects of point configuration. This section explains how to configure point properties that are common to many time points. You configure most of these properties on the Time Point, Control and Manual tabs of the Time Point Form.

Use this section, along with the appropriate driver documentation, for information on configuring the time points on your system.

For more information, see the topics that are listed in the gray footer section at the bottom of this topic. Select the relevant entry to display the topic that you require.

(In addition to internal time points, Geo SCADA Expert also supports Time Variables. The type of database item that you add to Geo SCADA Expert depends on that item’s intended functionality. For more information, see Variables in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration.)
