Current Channel

Associated with: Switched sets; outstations; Slave outstations

This status attribute displays the name and location of the channel with which the outstation or set is currently communicating. This comprises the given name of the channel (as specified on the Outstation Set Form), including the full path to that channel in the database. Dot separators separate the various elements of the path (the hierarchy of groups within which the channel resides).

With outstations that are communicating via PSTN, the attribute is only displayed while a dial in or dial out call is in progress.

Example:

Western Region.Area 1.Channel 12.
(Indicating that the channel via which an outstation is currently communicating is ‘Channel 12’. The channel is located in the group ‘Area 1’, which itself is located in the ‘Western Region’ group.)
