On some systems, Geo SCADA Expert is both a SCADA Master and a Slave outstation. Installation of the appropriate Geo SCADA Expert Slave driver enables a third-party server to use a particular protocol to obtain data from Geo SCADA Expert. Additionally, installation of the appropriate Geo SCADA Expert (master) driver(s) enables the Geo SCADA Expert server to use the appropriate protocol(s) to retrieve data from and/or control points on outstations and/or PLCs.
This type of system setup might be required, for instance, if a system has a hierarchical structure whereby Geo SCADA Expert and/or a third-party server provides control and monitoring features for different subsets of data.
