Determine the Cause of the Failures

When you have displayed the port server's log file, you can use it to diagnose the cause of failures.

By default, the log file only records errors such as failures to assign to a serial port. Each error indicates:

• The serial port to which the error relates to
• The activity that the Port Server was undertaking when the error occurred
• The reason for the failure. This is reported by the operating system.
