Access to alarms or alarm-related actions can be restricted:
- By security permission—see Allocating Security Permissions in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Security
- By Area of Interest—see Restrict Alarm and Event Access to Specific Areas of Interest in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration
- By disabling alarms on either a per item, or per Group basis—see Disable Alarms
- By Alarm Suppression
- By using the Set Responsibility Action Alarm Redirection action to restrict the ability to acknowledge a particular alarm to that of particular User, User Group, or specific ViewX workstation(s)
- When under Exclusive Control—see Exclusive Control in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Security.
In addition to the above, a Default Alarm Filter can be used to present a subset of alarms to a user (see Specify a Default Alarm Filter). If required, the user can change this initial filter to display further alarms to which they have access.
