You can use third-party OLEDB client applications such as SAP Crystal Reports and Microsoft Excel to access your Geo SCADA Expert database. The data can then be used in reports, spread sheets, other databases, and so on.
We refer to computers that run third-party OLEDB applications and have Data Access components installed as third-party OLEDB Clients.
Geo SCADA Expert communicates with OLEDB clients in a similar way as it communicates with ViewX clients. The only difference is that with an OLEDB client, there is a single link between the Data Access components and the OLEDB client. The single link is used for client to server messages and server responses. There is no server advise link for unsolicited messages from the server. For a Geo SCADA Expert database to be available to an OLEDB application, the client must have:
- The Geo SCADA Expert Data Access components installed
- At least one Geo SCADA Expert client connection in place.
