Using the User Methods Tab to Define Custom Actions

You can associate up to five custom pick actions (‘methods’) with an item in a Geo SCADA Expert database. This facility allows you to create custom actions to, for example, enable users to modify the properties of any custom database fields, or perform an action on all or some of the outstations in a set.

You use the User Methods tab on the relevant configuration Form to specify the database item with which an action is to be associated and the ‘method’ that Geo SCADA Expert is to trigger on that item. You also use the tab to specify a custom title for the pick action (see Add a Custom Pick Action).

Once configured, the custom action is automatically appended to the list of ‘core’ and driver-specific pick actions for that item.

For a series of examples that demonstrate how custom actions might be used on a Geo SCADA Expert system, see Example Configuration.

Do not provide mobile access to Exclusive Control methods. Activities associated with taking, releasing, assigning and removing Exclusive Control are not supported by mobile devices.
