Associate a Security Configuration Item with a Device Configuration Item
This topic only applies to SCADAPack x70 devices:
- With which Geo SCADA Expert communicates using the DNP3 protocol
- On which DNP3 Secure Authentication is enabled.
You can use Geo SCADA Expert to import and download Security Configuration files. To enable this, a Security Configuration item has to exist in the database for each security configuration file that Geo SCADA Expert is to update (see Create a Security Configuration Item). Additionally, that Security Configuration item has to be associated with the relevant SCADAPack x70 Device Configuration item(s) (the ones that represent the SCADAPack x70 devices into which Geo SCADA Expert is to download the security configuration).
The Settings tab on the Forms of SCADAPack x70 Device Configuration items includes a Security Configuration section. Use the field within the Security Configuration section to specify the Security Configuration database item that Geo SCADA Expert is to use to store Security Configuration files for this particular SCADAPack x70 device.
(If the SCADAPack x70 device is not using DNP3 Secure Authentication, leave the field in the Security Configuration section blank.)
Use the browse button to display a Reference browse window and then select the required entry from the window. If required, you can associate the same Security Configuration item with multiple SCADAPack x70 devices. This is useful for devices that run the same security configuration firmware, and share the same security key.
To check which security configuration file is currently associated with a particular Security Configuration database item, view that item's Status display (see Status Attributes that are Specific to SCADAPack x70 Security Configuration Items).
To check which Security Configuration file was last downloaded to a SCADAPack x70 device, you can view that device's security-related status attributes. You do this by viewing the status attributes of the SCADAPack x70 DNP3 Outstation that is associated with that SCADAPack x70 device (see Status Attributes that are Specific to SCADAPack x70 DNP3 Outstations).
