Use Trusted Certificates for Server and Client Communications

Geo SCADA Expert 2020 onwards is designed to use certificates to initiate secure connections and encrypt the data that is transmitted between Geo SCADA Expert servers and clients (see Certificates for Geo SCADA Expert Server and Client Connections). We strongly recommend that you obtain certificates from a trusted certification authority to use for such communications.

Recommended security:

• Obtain and install trusted server certificates

Increased security:

• Obtain and install trusted server certificates
• Obtain and install trusted client certificates

We recommend that you do not:

• Use the default server generated non-trusted server certificate.
