The topics in this section explain how to make a backup of your database at any time, typically for restoration or archival purposes. Geo SCADA Expert also has the ability to generate an automatic backup of the database whenever you upgrade the Geo SCADA Expert software on a server. This is a different type of backup.
You can configure Geo SCADA Expert to back up your database on-demand or on a scheduled basis. You might want to consider the following:
- You can configure a Schedule to back up the database automatically at regular intervals. For example, every week
- You can create a Mimic that shows the progress of the backup
- If you want to send a backup to a remote computer over a slow network, you might want to back up your Geo SCADA Expert database locally first, then zip up the backup files and copy the zip file to the remote server.
