(Microsoft Remote Desktop Services was formerly known as Microsoft Terminal Services.)
Each Citrix server or Remote Desktop Services server requires an appropriate amount of memory and disk space to run:
- The operating system
- Citrix XenApp/Remote Desktop Services
- The required number of ViewX sessions
- Any other applications.
Each ViewX session requires the same amount of RAM and hard disk space as a ViewX client:
- 4GB RAM
- 100GB Hard Disk Space.
For example, if you require 8 Citrix or Remote Desktop Services clients, the Citrix/Remote Desktop Services server needs:
- Sufficient RAM and hard disk space to run the operating system, Citrix/Remote Desktop Services, and any other programs
plus
- 512 MB RAM and 10 MB hard disk space for each client. As there are 8 clients, this means 4096 MB (4GB) RAM and 80 MB hard disk space.
