CancelRedirections and RestartRedirections Methods
Geo SCADA Expert provides two methods, CancelRedirections and RestartRedirections, that can be used to cancel and restart any alarm redirection(s) that:
- Apply to a particular database item, Group, Group Instance, or Redirection Group
- Are triggered to occur after a Delay that is long enough to allow for the above methods to be executed.
CancelRedirections and RestartRedirections are methods rather than pick actions and therefore are not available from any context-sensitive menu. The methods are intended to be used, for example, in Script or Logic programs.
Example:
On a particular Geo SCADA Expert system, the CancelRedirections method is used to cancel the alarm redirections that are associated with an ‘Operator Redirections’ Redirection Group whenever system maintenance is being performed.
During that time, any ‘genuine’ alarms (ones that are not generated as a result of system maintenance) are manually assigned to a particular user or workstation, using the SetAlarmResponsibleUser or SetAlarmResponsibleWorkstation methods.
Once system maintenance is complete, the RestartRedirections method is used to re-enable the alarm redirections.
If required, standard OPC wildcards can be used with the CancelRedirections and RestartRedirections methods, in order to cancel or restart redirection actions that are associated with multiple Redirection Groups.
Example:
The points on a particular area of the system are assigned redirections that are associated with Redirection Groups ‘Group 1’, ‘Group 2’, or ‘Group 3’.
The CancelRedirections method is configured to cancel alarm redirections that are associated with ‘Group ?’. The question mark (?) is the OPC wildcard that matches a single character. In this particular case, triggering the one CancelRedirections method results in Geo SCADA Expert canceling alarm redirections that are associated with any of the three Redirection Groups ‘Group 1’, ‘Group 2’, and ‘Group 3’.
Further Information
For more information on methods, including the above methods and the ClearAlarmResponsibility method, see the database Schema. (Each of the alarm redirection methods is associated with the CAlarmObject, and the CGroup database tables.)
For an example that further demonstrates the use of the CancelRedirections and RestartRedirections methods, see Cancel the Redirection Actions that are Associated with a Particular Redirection Group.
Associate a Redirection Action, Roster, or Calendar with a Redirection Group.
