Scanner Command Alarm

Associated with: Outstations.

This status attribute indicates whether the Scanner Command Timeout period has expired on an outstation.

Possible states: Displays one of the Standard Alarm States.

The Scanner Command Timeout is used to detect whether a request for an outstation is processed within a specified time by the channel. If the request is not processed within the time, the driver detects that the request has failed, aborts the request and sets the Scanner Command Alarm to Active.

The presence of this active alarm can indicate a performance issue. This problem may be in the configuration or the device itself.

For more information, including how to change the timeout, see Define the Scanner Command and Request Timeouts in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Server Administration.
