A user can rename or move a point or accumulator in Geo SCADA Expert after HCAL creates the historian tag for it. In this situation, the tag name will not match the Geo SCADA Expert database item's current name unless you use the RenameTag method to realign the two names.

This is how. Tags have a description associated with them. Geo SCADA Expert sets this to the class name and object ID of the point or accumulator. This is so that you can match tags in the historian in the AVEVA application with items in the Geo SCADA Expert database. You can read the tag description in the historian (see the information about the historian in the documentation supplied with the relevant AVEVA application). You can then search for the Object ID in the Geo SCADA Expert database (see Working with the Database Schema).
