TagDeadbandType

Description

The Deadband Type of the tag. The Deadband Type is the type of Delta storage deadband that the historian applies to the tag. This will be one of the following:

Value Name Description
1 TimeValue Value and/or Time deadband. The minimum time, in milliseconds, between stored values for a single tag or the percentage of the difference between the minimum and the maximum engineering units for the tag. Any value changes that occur within the Time deadband, or any data values that change less than the specified deadband, are not stored. The Time deadband applies to Delta storage only.
2 SwingingDoor Swinging Door (rate) deadband. A Swinging Door deadband is the percentage of deviation in the full-scale value range for an analog tag. The Swinging Door (rate) deadband applies to Delta storage only. Time and/or Value deadbands can be used in addition to the Swinging Door deadband. Any value greater than 0 can be used for the deadband. A value of 0 indicates that a Swinging Door deadband will not be applied. The Swinging Door deadband is essentially a rate of change deadband, based on changes in the slope of the incoming data values.

If you create a metadata field for this property, then an error will occur if you set the field to an invalid value for this property. HCAL will not export data for that point or accumulator.

This setting only takes effect if Delta storage is configured for the tag. This property applies to all tag types. In Geo SCADA Expert, the TagStorageType is always set to Forced, and therefore this property is not applicable.

NOTICE

LOSS OF DATA

If you create this metadata field in a database that contains points that are already exporting their data, these points will then have a Deadband Type of zero. This is because the field has a type of long, and numeric metadata fields default to zero. A Deadband Type of zero is invalid, so every point will now be invalid. Therefore, Geo SCADA Expert will no longer export data for these points until you change each point to have a valid Deadband Type (that is, 1 or 2). For this reason, we recommend that you create the metadata field before you configure the points to export their data.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in loss of data.
