A Controlled Station is a station such as an outstation, a slave, or a Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) that is monitored and controlled by a Controlling Station.
Through the Geo SCADA Expert documentation suite, a controlled station is referred to as an Intelligent Electronic Device or IED in the IEC 61850 Driver Guide, and as an outstation throughout the rest of the Geo SCADA Expert documentation suite.
