General Properties
Use the fields at the top of the <Point Type> tab of the appropriate Point Form to define the general IEC 61850 settings for a point. Depending on the type of the Point, some or all of these fields may be available. These fields are common to many IEC 61850 points:
- In Service—Use to specify whether the point is active or inactive (see Placing an Item In Service in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration).
- Confirm Disable/Enable—Users with the required permissions can disable a point that is In Service, or enable a point that is not In Service.
Use the Confirm Disable/Enable combo box to specify whether a confirmation dialog box is displayed whenever an operator requests that this point is disabled or enabled (see Requesting Confirmation of Action Requests in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Configuration).
Logical Node—Use this field to reference to the parent Logical Node object. This field is automatically populated. You can use the Browse Button to select the Logical Node.
Value Data Attribute Address—Use to provide the Value Data Attribute Address of the point. This address along with Logical Node reference defines the address that is used to read the value of the Point from the IED. This field is automatically populated. It contains the data attribute address in the IEC 61850 hierarchy. It is in the MMS format like Point MMS address:DNName/LNName$FCName$DOName$SDOName$DAName See https://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/373800D-01/iec61850/mms_addr_format/ for further information. For example: $ST$Beh$stVal. starting from the functional constraint.
Value Data Attribute Name—This field is read only. This is a part of Value Data Attribute Address. It is the name of the value data attribute. For example: if Value Data Attribute Address is $ST$Beh$stVal, then stVal represents Value Data Attribute Name.
Value Data Attribute FC—This field is read only. This is a part of Value Data Attribute Address. It is the functional constraint of the value data attribute. For example: if Value Data Attribute Address is $ST$Beh$stVal, then ST represents Value Data Attribute FC.
Quality Data Attribute Address—This field is read only. The Value Data Attribute Address in the IED has a Quality value, which indicates whether the Value is reliable or has been substituted. If these values are available in the IED, the Quality Data Attribute Address will be filled in with the IED Address for these values as defined in the SCL file. If these values are not available in the IED, this field will be blank.
Timestamp Data Attribute Address—This field is read only. The Value Data Attribute Address in the IED has a timestamp value, which indicates at what time the update has occurred. If these are available in the IED, the Timestamp Data Attribute Address will be filled in with the IED Address for these values as defined in the SCL file. If these values are not available in the IED, this field will be blank.
Severity—You use the Severity field to define the severity of alarms and events other than those that are generated in relation to changes in the point’s state or value. You use the Severity fields within the point’s Alarm Limits section to specify the severity level(s) of state-related alarms and events (see Alarm Limits).
