Full Client Identifier

Geo SCADA Expert supports multiple connections to a broker, for which the combined Broker Host Address, Port, and Client Identifier settings have to be unique. This status attribute displays the broker's Full Client Identifier. This comprises the Client Identifier that is configured on the MQTT Broker's configuration Form, along with a random number that Geo SCADA Expert assigns to that Client Identifier. The random number remains the same throughout the lifetime of the MQTT Broker item in the database. Geo SCADA Expert appends the same random number to the Client Identifier whenever it attempts to connect to the broker. This helps to ensure that the connection to the broker remains unique.

The Client Identifier on an MQTT Broker has been configured as:

Geo SCADA Expert assigns a random number to the Client Identifier. Geo SCADA Expert appends that same random number to the Client Identifier whenever it attempts to connect to the broker. So, for example, Geo SCADA Expert might use:

NorthRidge9076a5

This is the entry that will appear in log files and status attributes that show such connection information, including the MQTT Broker's Full Client Identifier status attribute.
