Configure the Multiplier Value

A Multiplier field is included below the general configuration fields on the Counter Point tab of MQTT JSON Schema A Counter points.

Use the Multiplier field to define the scaling factor that the driver applies to the counter's value.

• Multiplier—Counter values are typically scaled by the device that publishes the counter data. However, you can use this field for unit conversion (for example, where you require different units in the Geo SCADA Expert database to those used by the publishing device).

  Specify a Multiplier other than 1 if the counter value that is to be used in the Geo SCADA Expert database is to differ from the actual value reported by the publishing device. The driver multiplies the counter values that it receives from the broker by the Multiplier value for use in Geo SCADA Expert.

   

  A point generates one count for every liter of liquid that is pumped through a pipe.

  A Multiplier of 0.22 is used to show how many gallons of liquid have been pumped through the pipe.
