By using an SMS service and SMS channel, you can instruct Geo SCADA Expert to perform actions remotely. This means that engineers and operators can use SMS compatible devices such as mobile telephones to trigger actions in Geo SCADA Expert from any location that has suitable network coverage.
There are three ways of sending an SMS message to trigger an action:
- Use an alias and a Method Call
- Reference the Execute action of a Method Call
- Reference a database item’s action directly.
We recommend that wherever possible, you use an alias on a Method Call. This is because this way of sending an SMS command is much more convenient, cost-efficient and reliable. To learn how to use an alias on a Method Call, see:
