Understanding the Random Generator
The Random Generator provided as a part of Geo SCADA Expert is a signal generator that produces simulated data for testing and demonstration purposes.
The Random Generator can produce time series of the following types, including some types of non-random output:
- Sine Wave
- Saw Tooth Wave
- A random Walk (the next value in the series is the current value plus a random figure that can be positive or negative)
- Random data.
For each series, you can specify the sampling interval and the maximum and minimum values in the range.
You can view the output of the Random Generator by displaying the associated Trend
A typical use of the Random Generator could be to test the configuration of a new site in Geo SCADA Expert before it goes live and is connected to the remote device. The Random Generator can be used to generate data in the appropriate form and range for the new installation
