Configure the Properties on the IEC 60870-5-104 Tab
The properties described in this section only need configuring if:
- Geo SCADA Expert is the configuration client, and you are configuring the SCADAPack x70 device to accept communications from another SCADA client, which itself is to communicate with the SCADAPack x70 device using the IEC 60870-5-104 Controlling Station. (In which case the properties apply regardless of the communications protocol that Geo SCADA Expert uses to communicate with the SCADAPack x70 device.)
With SCADAPack x70 Analog, Digital, and Counter Configuration items, you use the IEC 60870-5-104 tab to configure the properties that define how the corresponding object on the IEC 60870-5-104 Controlled Station interacts with its Controlling Station.
Use the IEC 60870-5-104 tab to configure the following sections:
- Enabled—Use the check box to define whether or not to enable interaction between the object on the IEC 60870-5-104 Controlled Station and its associated Controlling Station.
Select the check box if the object on the IEC 60870-5-104 Controlled Station is to interact with its associated Controlling Station.
Clear the check box if the object on the IEC 60870-5-104 Controlled Station is not to interact with any Controlling Station(s). This is the default setting.
- Monitor Direction—Use the properties within the Monitor Direction section to define the monitoring direction of the IEC 60870-5-104 Controlled Station.
Use the following fields to define a unique identifier for the SCADAPack x70 Configuration item:
- Structured Information Object Address (IOA)—The value of this field is auto-populated based on the unstructured value and is listed in the
<high byte>/<mid byte>/<low byte>
format. - Unstructured Information Object Address (IOA)—The acceptable range for this field is between 1-16777215 (inclusive). The default value is 0.
In this section, the availability of the Enable Cycle Scan check box on SCADAPack x70 Configuration items depends on the Application Service Data Unit (ASDU) setting.
- Structured Information Object Address (IOA)—The value of this field is auto-populated based on the unstructured value and is listed in the
- Control Direction—Use the properties within the Control Direction section to define the controlling direction of the IEC 60870-5-104 Controlled Station. The fields in this section are similar to those in the Monitor Direction section.
When you have a Double command object pair, if you mark either of the pair of SCADAPack x70 Configuration items as out of service, the other SCADAPack x70 Configuration item is also taken out of service and neither of the items will be downloaded/exported.
If either of the pair of SCADAPack x70 Configuration items does not exist in the database, it results in a configuration error (see Correcting Invalid Configuration).
