Case Sensitive Usernames

You can use the Server Configuration Tool’s Case Sensitive Usernames check box to define whether user names are case-sensitive.

By default, the Case Sensitive Usernames feature is disabled (the check box is clear), and Geo SCADA Expert treats upper case and lower characters as the same. For example, the character ‘C’ will be used as if it were the same character as ‘c’.

If you select the check box, Geo SCADA Expert regards upper case characters as different to lower case characters. For example, the upper case character ‘C’ is a different character to the lower case ‘c’.

ATTENTION: Before disabling Case Sensitive Usernames on an operational system, you should check that the system does not have user accounts with the same name (but using different case). If you disable Case Sensitive Usernames on a system that has users with the same name, those users will become invalid.
