Define whether Telnet can Communicate with Local Clients

The Global Parameters branch of the Geo SCADA Expert Server Configuration Tool contains a Channels section. This section includes the Telnet settings.

Use the Telnet settings to define whether or not to allow the Telnet server to communicate with other Telnet clients that are connected locally within the network.

To configure the Telnet settings:

  1. Access the Geo SCADA Expert Server Configuration Tool.
  2. Expand the Global Parameters branch of the tree-structure.
  3. Select the Channels and scroll to the Telnet section.
  4. Use the check box in the Telnet section to define the settings:

    • Allow channel Telnet from any PC─Specify the clients with which the Telnet Server is to allow communications.

Select the check box if the Telnet server is to communicate from any PC (both remote and local).

Clear the check box to restrict communications between the Telnet server and other local clients. This is the default setting.

  5. Apply the changes to the server.

  6. For the Telnet setting to come into effect, you have to restart any drivers that are running (see Start and Stop a Driver).
