Sofrel Master Configuration

To configure Geo SCADA Expert as a Sofrel Master, you need to create and configure:

1. Sofrel Channel(s) to define the communication connections between Geo SCADA Expert and the Sofrel outstations (see Configuring a Sofrel Channel).
2. A Sofrel Outstation Set to define each group of Sofrel outstations that share the same communications media (see Configuring a Sofrel Outstation Set).
3. A Sofrel Outstation to represent each Sofrel outstation with which Geo SCADA Expert communicates (see Configuring a Sofrel Outstation).
   NOTICE

   CONFIGURATION MISMATCH

   Ensure that the outstation configuration in the Geo SCADA Expert database matches the configuration that exists at the corresponding outstation. This is particularly important with Sofrel outstations that do not support downloading of configuration properties from Geo SCADA Expert.

   Failure to follow these instructions can result in inoperable equipment, unexpected equipment operation, or inaccurate data values.

   Sofrel outstations do not support downloading of configuration properties from Geo SCADA Expert but they do support downloading operating parameters. You can upload or import Sofrel outstation configuration into Geo SCADA Expert, either directly from the outstation by importing configuration files that have been exported by SOFTOOLS.

4. A Sofrel Point to represent each analog, digital or counter measuring instrument or control device that is connected to each Sofrel outstation.
