You can use the Control Panel in Windows® to perform a ‘quick uninstall’ on Geo SCADA Expert. This will remove Geo SCADA Expert from your computer, but will leave behind some registry settings and files. This process works in a similar way to uninstall procedures for other applications that run in Windows.
If you intend to re-install Geo SCADA Expert on a computer at a later date, you may prefer to perform a ‘complete’ uninstall. A ‘complete’ uninstall removes all Geo SCADA Expert files and registry settings so that when a new version of Geo SCADA Expert is installed, it only uses the built-in default settings.
To perform a ‘quick’ uninstall on Geo SCADA Expert:
To ensure a clean uninstallation of Geo SCADA Expert components, make sure that you uninstall Geo SCADA Expert before you uninstall any IIS components or the Crystal Reports runtime.
- Log on to your PC via a Windows user account that has Administrator permissions.
- Ensure that the Geo SCADA Expert server has been shut down. For information on shutting down a server, see 'Stop the Geo SCADA Expert Server' in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Server Administration.
- Use the Control Panel in Windows to access the Uninstall or Change a Program window. (For information about accessing the Control Panel, please refer to the Windows help.)
- In the Control Panel, select Programs and Features.
- Select Schneider Electric Geo SCADA Expert in the list of programs.
The options in the menu at the top of the list change and now show an Uninstall option.
Alternatively, you can right-click on Schneider Electric Geo SCADA Expert to display a context-sensitive menu.
- Select the Uninstall menu option. A prompt asks you if you are sure you want to uninstall Geo SCADA Expert. Select Yes to proceed with the uninstall process.
Also select Yes if you are asked if you want Geo SCADA Expert to be able to make changes to your computer.
The uninstall process begins.
If there are any programs running that need to be closed for the uninstallation process to continue, a prompt is displayed, like this:
Choose to close any applications that cannot be running while the uninstall process is underway.
Geo SCADA Expert is removed from your computer. However, this is a quick uninstall and some Geo SCADA Expert files and settings will remain in place (Server configuration settings).

Once you have completed uninstalling Geo SCADA Expert, you can uninstall any other programs or features that are no longer required. Only do this after making sure that they are not used by any other applications on the machine.
