WARNING

potential for malicious use

Be aware of the potential for file type, file size, or file content to be used maliciously.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.

To specify the permitted file types:

  1. On the Virtual ViewX server machine, Access and Run a Registry Editor.
  2. If it does not exist already, create a new registry key DownloadFileTypes in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Schneider Electric\Virtual ViewX.

Virtual ViewX enables the external download capability of the specified file types for all users on the server on which the registry key is created.

  3. Double-click the registry key to add further permitted file types to the default registry key value list, ".txt, .pdf, .xls, .xlsx, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx" as required.

The permitted file types should have a full stop '.' prefix and should be separated by commas.

A few file types cannot be added to the list of permitted file types and will be ignored if they are added. File types that are not permitted are listed in the File Types that are not Permitted column in the table below.

This table lists the default file types and the file types that are not permitted:
