Restrict Alarm and Event Access to Specific Areas of Interest
You can use ClearSCADA's Area of Interest feature to limit the alarms and events that are displayed on a node (workstation). You use the feature to limit a user’s alarm and event access, so that they are only made aware of those alarms and events that are associated with the geographical or logical areas in which they are interested. As such, users are unaware of any alarms and events that are associated with items that occur outside of their ‘areas of interest’.
The Area of Interest feature is useful on systems on which users only need to be notified of alarms and events that occur on particular area(s) of the system. It does not restrict access to items in other areas of the system—it just limits the user’s alarm and event notification to those for specific area(s) of the system.
Areas of Interest are hierarchical—by defining different ‘levels’ of area on a system, you can restrict alarm and event notification by different amounts for different users.
