Disable Channel
Associated with: Channels
Security permission required to access this pick action: Disable Points
Use this pick action to take a channel Out of Service.
The Disable Channel pick action clears the channel's In Service property, so that the channel is no longer active.
You might want to disable a channel, for example, if ClearSCADA has detected a problem with that channel. Once the problem has been rectified, use the Enable Channel pick action to place the channel back In Service.
ClearSCADA logs an entry in the Event Journal whenever either pick action is used. The entry indicates whether the channel has been enabled or disabled.
If the channel is the sole means by which ClearSCADA communicates with certain devices, disabling the channel will also de-activate those devices and their dependants, although their configuration will remain unchanged.
If using this pick action with the Automation Interface, you need to specify the method name Disable.
