Enable or Disable Historic Files

The Historic Files feature allows ClearSCADA to provide historic storage of reports and other documents. For example, the Historic Files feature allows ClearSCADA to:

Each time a report, document and so on, is generated, a new historic file is created.

To enable or disable the Historic Files feature:

  1. Access the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool.
  2. Expand the Historic Configuration branch.
  3. Select Historic Files.

  4. Either:
    • Select the Enabled check box in the Historic Files section to allow ClearSCADA to create a historic file for reports, documents and so on. For this reason, we recommend that the Historic Files feature is set to enabled.

      Or:

    • Clear the Enabled check box in the Historic Files section if you do not require historic storage of reports and so on. Disabling the Historic Files feature will improve the synchronization time, but only by a negligible amount.
  5. Right-click on the system icon in the tree-structure, and select the Apply Changes option to apply the changes.

Now that you have enabled or disabled the Historic Files feature, you can either proceed to configure other Historic settings (see Historic Configuration Settings) or you can continue with the server configuration.
