Installing the In-Database Translation Dictionary Excel Add-In Program

The In-Database Translation Dictionary is part of the ClearSCADA database and, for convenience, you can create and maintain it in a Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheet by using an Excel add-in program.

You can install the Excel add-in program on any server or client computer that meets the following recommended specifications:

You should also have Excel installed on the computer.

You can install the Excel add-in program from either:

 

To install the add-in program from the ClearSCADA Resource Center:

  1. In the ViewX client, select the File menu.
    A context-sensitive menu is displayed.
  2. Select the Help option.
    A further context-sensitive menu is displayed.

  3. Select the Online Resource Center option.

    The Resource Center Home screen is displayed.

  4. Select the Install ClearSCADA Excel Dictionary Tool option.

    The Excel add-in program Setup Wizard displays.

  5. Follow the displayed instructions to install the add-in program.

 

To install the add-in program from the ClearSCADA installation CD or DVD:

  1. Insert the ClearSCADA CD. If Autorun is disabled on your PC, run the CD manually.
  2. When the Installer screen is displayed, select Install ClearSCADA Excel Dictionary Tool.

    The Excel add-in program Setup Wizard displays.

  3. Follow the displayed instructions to install the add-in program.
