Alarm Count

Associated with: Any item for which an alarm can be raised

This status attribute indicates the number of alarms that have occurred on a database item since that item's current Alarm Count started. The count increments by 1 each time an alarm is raised for the database item.

The Alarm Count can be reset programmatically via the ResetAlarmRaiseCount method.

Example:

Raised 12 times since 2015-03-09 13:57:28.156
(Indicating that 12 alarms have occurred on the database item since the Alarm Count started on the date and time shown.)

The Alarm Count attribute on an item's Status display shows the number of alarms raised, regardless of alarm condition. (An alarm condition identifies the particular abnormal occurrence that triggered the alarm.) If your User Account permissions allow, you can use the OPC Data Bar to determine the number of alarms raised per alarm condition. Additionally, once the ResetAlarmRaiseCount method has been executed, separate OPC tags exist in the OPC Data Bar to enable you to ascertain the number of alarms that occurred per alarm condition prior to the method last being executed. For more information, see Use the OPC Data Bar to Access Alarm Count Information.
